Bridge Street Clinic was first established in 1903 and has provided medical services to industry and local residents since that time.

The confidentiality of information relating to our patients is of great importance to our doctors and staff. Every effort is made to ensure that all patient information is only accessed by those treating you. Please note that information about patient results is not given out over the telephone.

The floor of the clinic is level with outside paths. There are no external or internal steps. All doors allow wheel chair access.

This practice no longer Bulk Bills all patients. Current Health Care Card or Pension Card will be Bulk Billed at doctor's discretion. All other private patients are charged at AMA recommended rate and payment is expected at time of consultation. Cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Mastercard and VisaCard are all accepted.

There are three different types of consultation each which attract different fees. You may be billed for a short consult when attending for blood test results at Level A. Non complicated consults are billed a Level B rate. Long or complicated consults are billed at Level C rate.

Home visits are made either for urgent problems or if the patient is unable to get to the clinic because of his or her condition. Home visits can be requested by telephoning the clinic. Please call between 8.15 and 9.30 if possible.

An interpreter service is available to patients of the clinic. This service incurs a fee of $21.70 (inclusive of GST) per 15 mintes, for over the telephone interpreting. Auslan interpreters are also available for the hearing imparired at a fee.

The clinic operates on an appointment system. If you do not make an appointment you may have to wait several hours to see the first available doctor.

Appointments can be made by telephoning the clinic during normal working hours. We will endeavor to make an appointment with your doctor of choice however if the matter is urgent you will be offered the first available doctor.

Emergency cases are seen as quickly as possible.

For longer consultations please request a double appointment when telephoning the clinic.

Parking is available at the front of the clinic (one hour limit) and in the surrounding streets. Disabled parking is provided at the front of the clinic.

You may be asked to fill in a patient questionnaire in order to complete our record of all patients. We ask all patients to do this when registering. Please tell us of any change in your particulars: address, marital status, telephone number, Medicare number.

Bridge Street Clinic routinely places all patients on our recall system for pap smears, pathology, vaccinations, hearing tests and abnormal pathology. A letter is sent out weekly to those requiring a recall, advising that they telephone the clinic to make an appointment.

Our practice particiaptes in the State and National register system for recalls. If you do not want to participate in this recall system please advise the doctor.

In most circumstances your treating doctor will need to see you before prescribing repeat prescritptions, but if in doubt please telephone the clinic.

If you need to speak to your doctor you may telphone the clinic. Each doctor has a desiganted time each day for returing telephone calls and will endevour to call back. Alternatively, there may be another staff member who would be able to assist you.

If Feed back is important to the clinic as it helps us to improve our service to our clients. Feedback can be made via various methods such as emailing the clinic, suggestion box in reception, letter or a phone call to the practice manager.
